Just a note about a new blog that has appeared. It’s called “Rembrandt’s Room” and is maintained by an Amsterdam colleague, Maaike Dirkx. Maaike is a member of ArtWatch and very knowledgeable about Dutch, Netherlandish German and Italian art of the medieval and renaissance periods. Her first post is on paintings from the School of Cologne, like the above.

Rembrandt's Room? *perk*. Sounds good to me... although I am much more interested in 17th Dutch art than their art from earlier centuries.
I mentioned in a post on the Legion of Honour in San Francisco that the 17th century Dutch art was the centre of their lovely collection. It was!
