I will continue to trickle out these posts on art history and world art, but for those in need of more traditional fare I’ve created a blog to accompany a course I’m teaching on museums, collectors and connoisseurs in the U.S.A. I’ll be looking at the critical fortunes of such famous paintings like Titian’s Rape of Europa in the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum in Boston. The first post, however, deals with another Boston museum: the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard. University.
Art history and world art are my favourite subjects. Contemporary art works are really good, but i prefer to stay in the ancient age. The works displayed in museums are inspiring.
